Van Campen Liem is a spin out of the International Private Equity team and an M&A team of Baker & McKenzie with 35 professionals covering legal, tax and notarial services with offices in Amsterdam and Luxembourg. Van Campen Liem’s team consists of tax lawyers, corporate lawyers, notaries and funds lawyers to ensure complete integrated support in all aspects of fund structuring and fund establishment, transactional work and international tax structuring. The firm has a unique domestic and cross-border track record in the emerging markets arena such as CEE, Turkey, Russia/CIS and Romania and the fund formation experts of Van Campen Liem have broad experience in the tax and corporate law aspects of international fund structuring and fund establishment.
The practice of VCL has a strong emphasis on the structuring of private equity transactions and the legal implementation thereof, with Central Europe and South East Europe and Turkey as the focus geographies. Since 1997, the team has been establishing private equity and funds and structuring deals in this region. In Romania, Van Campen Liem has been involved in various real estate projects for a Warburg Pincus backed fund, Romanian Real Estate Partners, as well as the Bucharest based funds Balkan Accession Fund, the Emerging Europe Accession Fund, Romanian Equity Partners Coop and structuring deals in Romania for Advent International, Turkven, DBG II and Arx Equity III.

It has a focus on venture capital, fund formation and private equity, and the team has particular expertise in Italy, Turkey and CEE.
